Trial in RI?
I wonder if people awaiting trial in Rhode Island are given the same mandate that others in different states are -- namely, "You can't leave the state." That's fine in California, or pretty much any other state. But Rhode Island is like three blocks long. What if these people had to go grocery shopping? There's no grocery store in Rhode Island! It's only a park and a Wendy's. In fact, the pickup window for that Wendy's is in Connecticut and the tennis court in the park is halfway into Massachusetts. Trials are held in the Park Bench Rotunda every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9-11:30 and 1-5 (the old folks come to feed the pigeons from 11:30-1, so court is in recess). Tuesdays and Thursdays are reserved for the local YMCA day camps.
The lesson: Don't commit any crimes in Rhode Island!
