He's Not Mexican, And Neither Am I!

February 7th, 2005 by OZ

This is our new roommate: Pancho Villa.

He's a little over 6 months old, weighs about 8 pounds, and is crazy. Plus, he doesn't shed and I'm not allergic to him. In short: he's awesome.

We've had him since getting back to Pittsburgh and then Poughkeepsie. He's originally from Miami and is too young to be angry about the climate change. Besides, he's always wearing a furry coat, so he can't really complain. Anyway, we would have taken a picture of him earlier, but we were shopping for a new digital camera and we just got it, so here he is.

Also, I wrote a song parody a few weeks ago about Pancho, but it's in Spanish. If you're interested in reading it, click below.

To the tune of "Brujeria" by El Gran Combo!

Que tu me tienes tan loco de noche y de día (mi gatito Pancho Villa)
De Miami te traje al norte frío (pobresito Pancho Villa)
Corrrrrrrrrrrrre, corrrrre, ¡ardilla! (está loco Pancho Villa)
Prrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, ¡OYE LOCO!

I must say i felt quite hispanic when i started singing the pancho villa song to the right tune. In fact a small part of me wanted to get up and dance, however i think that my coworkers may frown upon that. You know, i may have to refer this fine piece of lyricism to some of my producer friends.. wait, i have none, but if i did, you would have a record deal.

First of all, I wish I had a roommate like that (but that wouldn't pay the other half of the rent). Second, that is an adorable song to go along with an adorable kitten. That's a sweet picture!

[...] Remember that time that I got a cat? Or my (at times) heated exchanges with Debra Barone? And some point, I even bought a house, moved out of the boondies, and then fnally moved into that house. I even started documenting the events of my home workplace. And then, as the year came to a close, I summed it all up. Well, not all of it, just the not-blatantly-crazy stuff. [...]

[...] Seriously, this tree is huge. By the time we finish decorating it, it'll be Easter... of 2017! And we'll be dirt poor because we spent all our money on buying more and more ornaments because the 59 dozen we currently own will only cover 1/8th of the tree. And forget about the lights! Remember that scene in "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" where Clark turns on the lights on his house and almost blacks out his surrounding blocks? With this tree, I might recreate that scene indoors! Speaking of "Christmas Vacation", there's also a part where Clark finds a squirrel living among the branches of his tree. Well, I'm afraid that I'm going to go downstairs tomorrow morning and find three cats: Pancho, Loki, and Simba! This giant tree is going to turn me into a real life Clark Griswold. If the o'wife has a Cousin Eddie who's going to drop in unannounced with his smelly RV and bone-eating dog, then I'm getting back in my inner tube and going back to Miami. [...]
